Field Trip to Flisvos Marina: Exploring ESG in Shipping
On Saturday October 5th the MSc in “Shipping” students visited the Flisvos Marina, to learn about the role of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices in the maritime sector.
Prof. Theodore Pelagidis, Mrs. Maria L. Karageorgou, ESG Manager and Mr. Spyros Papadatos, Business Development & Marketing Manager of LAMDA Flisvos Marina S.A., introduced the students to real-world solutions and challenges, in sustainable port management and reducing carbon footprint.
The students also explored the marina’s initiatives in eco-friendly operations and community engagement, emphasizing the importance of responsible modern business practices.
This hands-on experience highlights the commitment of our program to shaping future leaders ready to tackle the evolving ESG landscape in global shipping.
