First-year students’ orientation for the academic year 2024-2025

On Tuesday, 1 October 2024, which marked the first day of the academic year 2024-2025, the Department of Maritime Studies of the University of Piraeus welcomed its first-year students with great joy and enthusiasm, in a special event held in the Conference Hall of the University of Piraeus.

The first-year students of the Department were welcomed by the Rector of the University of Piraeus, Professor Michael Sfakianakis, the Dean of the School of Shipping and Industry, Professor Angelos Pantouvakis, and the President of the Department, Professor Ioannis Theotokas, who presented the Department and the Program of Studies.

The students had the opportunity to meet almost all the faculty members of the Department and to be informed about the curriculum.

The students were also welcomed by the Head of the Department Secretariat, Ms. Niki Fragou, who presented the Office of the Secretariat. Presentations of the student services followed, by the representative of the Counseling Center of the University, Dr. Nikolaos Degleris, the Head of Student Services Niki Bartzaklis, Librarian Angeliki Oikonomou, and the Education and Career Advisor of the Liaison Office, Dr. Andronikos Kalidis.
