MSc Marine Science and Technology Management
Dear candidates,
We welcome you to the Postgraduate Program “Management in Maritime Science and Technology”. The Program combines and utilizes the tradition, expertise and experience of the Department of Maritime Studies of the University of Piraeus and the Naval Academy in the fields of maritime management and technology, respectively.
Your studies in the Program will equip you with the necessary analytical and critical skills, with the scientific specialization and with the theoretical and applied knowledge that will serve as a basis for a professional career in shipping or for further studies and research.
The Program is based in the world-renowned and influential maritime center of Piraeus, the maritime capital that hosts the most dynamic maritime cluster in Europe. The rapid technological development, especially in the field of Information Technology and the need for businesses in the shipping cluster to integrate and utilize this development creates a demand for executives with specialization in management and technology in shipping. The Program seeks to become a dynamic element of the Piraeus shipping cluster, by training these executives.
An element that distinguishes the Program and makes it unique is the utilization of the complementary know-how, infrastructure and human resources of two widely recognized educational institutions of Shipping and Piraeus, as well as the interconnections that these institutions maintain with the vibrant space of shipping, its businesses and organizations.
An important feature of the Program is also its connection with companies and organizations of the shipping industry. This feature allows for the provision of a significant number of scholarships to students, as well as the implementation of activities that bring the Program closer to the needs of the productive sector it supports, such as executive lectures and visits to businesses and ships. The above elements create the best conditions for the implementation of the Program’s mission.
Of course, a necessary condition for this is your own effort. In this effort, the professors and administrative staff of the Program will be supportive.
Good luck to everyone!
