Official launch of the project “Improving the quality of multi-level governance and strengthening the resilience of island economies of Croatia, Greece, and Sweden
he project “Improving the quality of multi-level governance and strengthening the resilience of island economies of Croatia, Greece, and Sweden” supported by DGREFORM by the European Commission and hosted by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, General Secretariat of the Aegean and Island has officially launched! The project also involves Region Gotland & Öckerö municipality in Sweden and the Croatian Ministry of Regional Development and EU funds.
Islands are becoming increasingly strategically important across European and OECD countries. This project will focus on how can we enhance development opportunities and wellbeing standards in places that face insularity, low density, seasonality and remoteness to markets. Over the coming two years we will work with data, field visits, sharing of best practices to develop a policy toolkit that can help in this endeavor.
