Mr. Athanasios Martinos, distinguished shipowner, founder of Eastern Mediterranean Maritime, was announced Honorary Doctor of the Department of Maritime Studies of the School of Maritime and Industry of the University of Piraeus, in a special ceremony held on May 4, 2023, at the Municipal Theater of Piraeus.

Mr. Athanasios Martinos has contributed with his business activities to the development of Greek shipping and with his significant social activities to the development of the country and of various sectors, such as educational, healthcare, research and cultural sectors.
